🎓 Corpus cognitive linguist. Does research on 1) L2 vocabulary; 2) metaphorical function words, conceptual metaphors, embodiment, and second language acquisition; 3) Zen and language; 4) object metaphor theory.
👨🏫 Teaches English and does applied linguistics at a university in Japan.
☸️ Chose to become a Buddhist in my teens and entered a Zen temple in Japan in my 20s. My outlook takes Theravada and Buddhist revisionism and historicism into account.
