Trivial Intuition on Clubhouse
Description
The aim of this club is to explain concepts in a way that makes them intuitive.
I had an algorithms professor who loved to tell us “this problem is trivial!” when writing a complicated proof on the board. Really, trivial? I’m struggling to even follow along...
Later on I realized he has a point. Underlying all these high-level ideas, there are fundamental intuitive truths. Once you can get to that spark of insight, that Eureka moment when you think “I GET it now! So THAT’S how recursion works!” many problems suddenly do become trivial.
Confused about gradient descent in machine learning? Let’s dive into calculus essentials and get an intuition for how derivatives work. Difficulty understanding molecular interactions? Let’s focus on the basics of electronegativity, why and how orbitals form.
There are no topics too complex or too abstract for us to get an intuition. Logic, mathematics, physics, biology, statistics, computer science... it’s all trivial.
