----- DEBATE STAGE RULES -----
All teams / sides are decided by coin flip.
Round 1: Each speaker has 2 minutes.
Next speaker summarizes points of last.
After summary ask: "Is that correct?"
If yes, next speaker proceeds with 2 min.
If no, last speaker clarifies summary.
After fourth speaker has 2 minutes, the first speaker will offer their summary before proceeding with round two.
Each speaker in Round 1 should attempt to rebut at least one point from the prior speaker's argument.
Round 2: Each speaker has 40 seconds.
This is a "free for all" round.
Speakers may target any other argument or use the time to strengthen their partner's position / bolster their own.
No points or "wins" are awarded as this is a listening and structural exercise to strengthen your ability to structure coherent arguments based on merit rather than emotion. Not personal; all positions are decided by process of coin flip. Debate space shall remain professional and speakers will provide constructive feedback to each other. Audience will be invited to stage to offer insights and constructive feedback so that all speakers may improve.
