DEBBI BALCKWELL-COOK, a mother of 5 GodMother and grandmother of 13,is the lead female vocalist of the Blues – Rock group ‘Delta Deep’ along with Phil Collen of the Rock Band ‘Def Leppard.’ In Germany she is known as ‘Mah Deevah’ singing House Music and was the lead vocalist of the German tour of the ‘USA Original Gospel Singers’ – and had the privilege of singing for Pope John-Paul at the Vatican. She was the lead vocalist on 1980’s salsouls group The ‘Jammers’ #1 hit ‘Be Mine Tonight.’ On Broadway, at the Victory Theatre, Debbi performed in the Crossroads Theatre’s production of the South African play, ‘SHEILA’S DAY.’ She has done background vocals for Gregory Hines, Colonel Abrams and Michael Buble to name a few. She is also an AUDELCO winner for her role in the New Federal Theatre’s production of ‘GOD’S TROMBONES’ for Best Female Lead in a Musical.
