In a messy four way with my wife, my boat, and Death. Cautiously optimistic.
SAILOR / DESIGNER / TECHNOLOGIST / MYSTIC
ð In 2017 I took to the sea aboard Rejoice, a forty foot sailboat and my home. Right now I'm docked in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, a little fishing village in Nayarit, Mexico. Life at sea has taught me that less comfort makes me feel more alive, that the occasional real fear of death extinguishes most other anxiety, and that wildness isn't something you visit but something you're made of.
ððž In 2010 I started seven years at Google as a senior product designer on Search, Fuchsia, and Material. Google bought Metaweb, where I had spent five years helping create the technologies and methodologies that would become the Knowledge Graph. I led design at several startups before that.
ðŠķ I am fascinated by how little we understand about how consciousness works, and exploring the threshold of that understanding is a lifelong effort. I like talking about sailing, design, and technology, but I love talking about the mystery.
