NEXT ON EXPOSED!! This Thursday, September 16th from 7-8:30 PM EST join award winning National Geographic journalists Frans Lanting and Christine Eckstrom.

Frans has been proclaimed the most important wildlife photographer of our time. “No photographer turns animals into art more completely than Frans Lanting,” writes The New Yorker.

Thomas Kennedy, former Director of Photography at National Geographic said this about Lanting. “He has the mind of a scientist, the heart of a hunter, and the eyes of a poet.”

Frans has received top honors from World Press Photo, the title of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award. He has been inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in London and is a recipient of Sweden’s Lennart Nilsson Award. In 2018, the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition honored him with their first ever Lifetime Achievement Award at the Natural History Museum in London.

He makes his home in Santa Cruz, California, with his wife and partner, Christine Engstrom a writer, editor, and videographer with whom he collaborates on fieldwork and publishing projects. Celebrating the wonders of the natural world and exploring the coexistence of people and wildlife they use photography, videography and evocative writing to leverage conservation efforts ranging from local initiatives to global campaigns.

Frans and Chris live in a coastal meadow which they share with bobcats, coyotes, and elusive mountain lions.
