Bal Brach is an award-winning journalist who has worked across Canada’s major news networks. Her journalism is guided by fairness, personal integrity and compassion.
In addition to her work in newsrooms, Bal started her own production company to create content that reflects the lives of diverse Canadian communities.
Her first film “Little India Big Business," premiered on CBC Television and the Documentary Channel. It was a finalist in the prestigious New York Festivals as one of the world's best cultural documentaries in 2017.
In 2018, Bal produced SOLD!, an original CBC podcast about the role of foreign investment in B.C.’s real estate market. The podcast reached the top of the iTunes Canada chart, debuting at number one in the first week of launching.
Bal is a passionate storyteller who strongly believes in the power of responsible journalism. She is committed to sharing stories from underrepresented groups whether it be through traditional mainstream media or through her independent creative projects.
In 2021, Urban Asian magazine named Bal one of the "Top 20 Most Influential South Asians In Vancouver B.C.”
