SACRED REALMS on Clubhouse

This Creator First Finalist room is a deep exploration of all things sacred: ‘myth’, ‘magic’, religion, science, arts and humanities. From an academic perspective, we explore intricate interconnections and problematize these terms.

Through storytelling, simulations, and interviews with leading academics and artists we dissect the core issues of our times through an interconnected and holistic lens.

Sacred ways of seeing, being, and knowing have been brutalized and colonized throughout the globe. Here, we define problems, assess needs, propose solutions, and forge partnerships for interfaith and non-faith dialogues. Most know little of non-western or indigenous beliefs and culture. Some like “Vodun” and “Tantra” are maligned and appropriated. We need to push the limits in the anthropology of religion. We dive deep into diversity and inclusion and the siren call to amplify BIPOC voices, through an emic and participatory approach.

Room themes include: Ritual and Ceremony; Healing and Altered States; Shamanism and Magic; Comparative Philosophy; Spirit Possession, Sorcery. + Sacred 🎶 Music, 🖼 Art, Film 🎥 and Live Performances.

In “Sacred Realms” we build tools and skills to understand and analyze the sacred, and it’s important role in identity, social justice, and world affairs.
Respect for Each Other: We don’t speak over one another. Respect is Sacred. And we give primacy to non western modes of being and knowing.
No racist, sexist, BS: Here we try to encourage people to say “what did you mean”? Then we take the time to educate.
We encourage Radical Empathy & Sharing Recordings: Instead of having to be right, we encourage empathy through listening and shared understanding. All participants agree to be recorded; recordings may be shared by Sacred Realms for the greater good.
