Melinda Deterville was born in St. Vincent W.I. She was raised in Brooklyn NY and Prince George's County Maryland. When Melinda became a mother in 2017 the experience encouraged her to be more transparent in the world of literature. She became a children's book author July 2020. The first children's book Melinda published is about helping children get acclimated about the pandemic. She has worked and cared for children for at least twenty years. Melinda's first break was when she use to work in a family-owned daycare in Maryland. Working in the daycare gave her the skills needed and curriculum base knowledge for newborn to school age children. Melinda didn't stop there, she continued working with children in Public and Charter Schools. Melinda's drive and consistency made her daughter a published author at five years old.
