“KING KANJA is one of the most sought-after international recording artists in the world! Born in London to a Kenyan family and raised in the Silver Spring, MD area, KING KANJA broke out into the music industry after a record-breaking performance on B.E.T’s legendary “106 and Park” in 2009 with over 70% of the votes from over 4 million viewers around the world! In 2017 he was nominated at the AFRIMMA awards in Dallas, Texas for the “Crossing Boundaries with Music” award alongside international acts Wale, Wizkid, Maleek Berry, French Montana & Jidenna. He has performed all over the world from Glastonbury in the U.K to his biggest audience to date in his native country Kenya, for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s final election rally in Uhuru Park for a 100,000 people. He has performed numerous times in the USA including SXSW & the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C with the Music in Me Foundation International. King Kanja throughout the years has acquired a high level of music business IQ which led him to being asked by Mathew Knowles (Beyoncé and Solange’s father) to be the president of the Afrobeats division of his world renowned record label, Music World Entertainment, former home of Grammy winning Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé and other major artists. Things didn’t work out as shortly after Dr. Knowles had fallen ill and led King Kanja to continue running his label imprint, King Kanja Empire with distribution from Empire working with a variety of music icons.”
