Hira Hyder is a Toronto based journalist, motivational speaker and mental health advocate.
As an alumni from the American University Of Sharjah, Hira has attained her degree in Mass Communication with a specialization in Journalism. In extra curriculars, Hira had taken on leadership roles such as Editor-in-Cheif for the universityâs official newsletter and Vice President of the Pakistani Cultural Club.
Currently, Hira works with DML - HUM TV Canada as their broadcast journalist and writes for multiple lifestyle publications on topics ranging from mental health awareness, women empowerment, social issues and spirituality.
In May 2021, Hira was selected as a council member of the Mississauga, Erin Mills Womenâs Council under the leadership of MP Iqra Khalid.
Recently, Hira has stepped into the financial industry as a Canadian certified HLLQP license advisor.
Popularly known for her trending âHira Hyderâs 7Qsâ rapid fire Twitter interviews and Instagram Celebrity Interview Series, âDil Ki Baatâ â Hira Kay Saath; Hira is recognized as a prominent celebrity and influential peoplesâ Journalist.
In Toronto, Hira was spotted at the 6th HUM Awards hosting the red-carpet event as HUM TV Canadaâs Journalist. She has also hosted the Toronto premiere press conferences and red-carpet events for the Oscars nominated film âCakeâ, âParwaaz Hai Junoonâ and âSuperstarâ.
As a broadcast journalist, Hira has hosted multiple faith based TV Shows for the youth on various international channels such as Toronto360 TV, Al Qaim TV and Ahlulbayt TV.
Hira is also recognized as a prominent Shia Muslim journalist in the realm of social media for her annual âMuharram Seriesâ; in which she aims to ethically eradicate the misconceptions of Islamic sectarianism through academic research.
As an ardent believer of humanitarian causes, Hira has actively worked alongside various charities such as Depilex SmileAgain Foundation for acid attack surviors, The Citizens Foundation (TCF Canadian chapter) for the education of underprivileged children in Pakistan and Project Ramadan to eradicate Canadian food insecurity.
In February 2021, Hira was recognized for her Journalistic achievements by the ISIJ of Toronto and is a recipient of the âThe Spirt Of WIL â Women In Leadershipâ award.
