The EYFS is the Department of Education’s statutory guidance that provides the legal basis for the Early Years Curriculum. It is how we assess children and how we safeguard and protect children aged 0-5 years.
It applies to childminders, private, voluntary and independent nurseries and preschools and the reception year in mainstream school.
The EYFS only applies to schools and early years providers in England, but is recognised and followed around the world.
