🧐The secret to student academic success is out! 🎉 It’s engagement! 😃 Great, so now that we know that, how do we engage 🧑‍🎓students? This club is dedicated to the 🕵️ discovery and 🤝 sharing of 💡ideas for engaging students in learning experiences. All educators, no matter what age, level or context are welcome. Here we 🗣 discuss, share, and 🔬study engagement strategies. We love to hear from 🙇‍♀️🙇🙇‍♂️ students too! We welcome students to share experiences they have had where a teacher has engaged them in the learning.
Speak your own truth: Do not presume what someone else’s ideas are or attempt to define someone’s ideas differently than how they represent themselves. Instead say “here is what I know...”
Be slow to understand : Don’t assume what someone is thinking or what motivations they have. Instead, ask a question for clarification or restate and ask “is this what you mean?”
Extend grace: We don’t really know what someone is dealing with that may be behind their behavior, tone, word choice, or even volume. Let moderators moderate and always give the attitude you want to get.
