Description

Small, intimate conversations with lovely people. Remember when we made new friends that night we talked for hours about the difference between being “triggered,” “traumatized” and “provoked,” without doing any of those things to each other? Yeah, this club is for moments like those.

Room[s] for nuance. Here to share our minds, not change yours.

Conversations about:
-human behavior: how do we build better communicators and emotionally intelligent leaders?
-equity in practice, not just in theory
-barriers to access in the traditional nonprofit grant making space
-cultural norms and expectations we don’t really question enough but probably should (ahem, hi, alcohol culture)
-romance novels, contemporary lit, movies, and shows: what we can learn about love, cultural expectations, and the things people ~supposedly~ want, from some of the best-selling and, underrated genres/categories, of all time
-food. always, food.

club by @maacah. vibe by you ✨ (seriously: thanks to you guys for making it possible to have productive conversations about complex topics. The fact that we’ve been able to influence each other in so many positive ways makes my heart so happy. We had an illuminating room about religion, the lack thereof, and the way it intersects with culture, with agnostics and atheists and Christians and Muslims who got vulnerable and real without getting combative at any point—that’s the magic of Midnight Moments ❤️)

p.s. any member can create a new room + schedule one in the calendar, and you can make the room public and visible to anyone in the hallway by hitting the three dots next to the 🔒 and tapping “Let Visitors In.”

p.p.s. if you’re new and trying to be a member, add a bio so I know you’re real 😊
Words mean things.: Say what you mean, mean what you say, and don’t minimize anyone else’s words. Understand that we didn’t all grow up in the same cultural context, and respect each other accordingly.
“This is what I heard. Is this what you meant?”: Respond to what someone *says,* not just what you think you heard, and don’t hesitate to ask for clarification.
Open minds, open hearts.: Assume good intent, and we’ll have a good time ❤️
