Description

BAME = UK 🇬🇧 term for ‘Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic’.

Basically, BIPOC for Brits.

Love the term or hate it, belonging is a phenomenon that everyone has a slightly different reaction to globally.

We intend to respectfully explore what the term means for individuals personally, professionally and politically - showing that 4 letters aren’t enough to represent billions of world views.

This is a club for EVERYONE to share stories, reactions, thoughts, ideas, on an intersectional platform - if you’ve ever known what it’s like being the only ‘x’ in the room (and especially if you haven’t) come, empathise, build some bridges.

Please do read and absorb club rules as guidelines of how to balance the need for an open and vulnerable conversation with the need to preserve a safe space for all vulnerabilities and views.
Chatham House Rules: CHR: If you see ‘CHR’ in the topic headline, what happens in the room stays in the room.
Tolerance: These topics can be difficult. Keep it challenging, but respectful. Be emotionally open to differing, even potentially threatening points of view, but make sure you make your reaction clear and heard.
Moderators : Moderators are required to ensure that every voice is heard and has their chance to communicate their positions fully. Keep promotion of personal business or party political interests to other rooms.
