🏆 3x mainstage TED-talking, Tony-winning multi-character performer/writer/director ...comedian/producer/...adding more slashes as I evolve. 💕
I’m the child of two doctors, so everything I do is rooted in hope for healing. 🩺 I grew up middle class with working class roots surrounded by my Black/white/Caribbean/Latinx/Jewish and immigrant extended family and community in NYC, and they inspire the multicultural characters I strive to honor in every portrayal. 🧔🏾👵🏼👩🏻👩🏽🦱🧕🏻
🎭 I wrote and starred in Bridge & Tunnel on Broadway (originally produced by Meryl Streep), Sell/Buy/Date off-B’way, and am now directing & starring in the upcoming Sell/Buy/Date documentary, exec produced by Rashida Jones and Meryl Streep.
And oh yeah, I’ve run a few marathons 👟 (sub 4 for those who know), I’m a Sagg, a meditator, 🧘🏽♀️ and if I have a religion it’s singing, dancing, & listening to dope music. Here’s to loving humanity in spite of itself. Black Lives Matter, always. ✊🏽
