Carla Kaufman Sloan is an Emmy winning writer and television producer with three decades of experience in creating, writing, and developing TV shows, in-studio production and delivery, and helming major television network content.

The mother of two sons, Carla co-established Caleb and Calder Sloan’s Awesome Foundation (ccawesomefoundation.org) with her husband, Chris, after the tragic death of their seven year old. The accident occurred in their home swimming pool due to faulty high-voltage lighting. Reeling in shock and grief, they turned their focus to helping other children in need, prioritizing kids who have suffered the loss of a parent or sibling. The foundation has grown significantly since 2015 to serve hundreds of thousands of people by: providing school beautification projects, distributing learning supplies and backpacks to underserved public school children, significant grocery distributions to thousands of food insecure families, a Legacy fund at their beloved Lehrman Community Day School, a Legacy fund for children to attend Experience Camp, a week long summer program for children suffering grief, massive hurricane relief supplies and gifts to Puerto Rico, and more personal aid to parents who have suffered the loss of a child.

Carla’s mission is to spread Calder’s light from her home base in Miami. She lines there with her husband Chris, twelve year old son, Caleb, and two Brussels Griffon dogs, Charlie and Miss Muffett.
