PROFESSIONAL BIO:
Robyn Lattaker-Johnson is Head of OWN Unscripted Development, Programming & Specials, developing a variety of unscripted programs for the networkâs core African-American female audience.
With over 20 years in entertainment spanning film, television, casting, physical production, development and current programming, Robyn Lattaker-Johnson has experience built across many disciplines, as well as razor-sharp creative instincts. Her expertise as a TV executive includes developing content in all genres of unscripted and reality-based programming, packaging star talent and authentic voices on both sides of the camera, as well as managing and motivating âwork-smartâ development teams.
Prior to OWN, Lattaker-Johnson was at REVOLT Media & TV, where she was Head of Content & Development and launched several series including "State of the Culture,â âFunny AF,â âShort and Fresh,â âDirectorâs Reelâ and the âAnatomy ofâŠâ franchise, and produced the highly-attended REVOLT Summits in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Lattaker-Johnson also served as VP, Alternative Programming at SYFY, NBC Universal Comcast where she developed creative and oversaw the networkâs top-rated unscripted series, including âFace Off,â âParanormal Witness,â âGhost Hunters,â âWizard Warsâ and âJim Hensonâs Creature Shop Challenge,â among others. Lattaker-Johnson also served as SVP, Original Programming for BET, where she led a team that launched more than 35 series and specials during her tenure and helped the network earn the highest ratings in its then 25-year history. A few of the acclaimed original series include Baldwin Hills, American Gangster, Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, Hell Date, Lilâ Kim: Countdown to Lockdown, Season of the Tiger, Ballers, Take the Cake and the gospel powerhouse Sunday Best. Under Robynâs key influence and oversight, BETâs programming slate grew from 4 original series to approximately 12 series per year.
Robyn Lattaker-Johnson recently completed the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Senior Executive Summit at Stanford Graduate School of Business (2019) and subsequently provided the keynote address at the WICT Rising Leaders Program. She has an MFA from the Art Center College of Design in Film Directing and graduated cum laude from the University of Washington with a BA in Communications, Broadcast Journalism.
