[Naren is short for Narendra and is pronounced Nuh-rén. Schreiner means “shrine-maker” in German—so it still works for me!]

I renounced family life and career in order to fully focus on my religious life and to be able to serve my larger family—you, sister, brother, mother, father—and the seekers and devotees of the Sanatana Dharma traditions. I spent 14 years as a Hindu monk in Paramahansa Yogananda’s ashram (SRF). From there I embarked on a new life, and the ashram has expanded to include the communities and people I meet. ||

For the past seven years I’ve been an ordained Pujari at the Kālī Mandir Ramakrishna Ashram where I live (when I’m not traveling). It is my
Joy to worship Mā there and serve Her devotees. ||

I serve on the Spiritual Life Council of Golden Lotus Inc. and Song of the Morning Yoga community in Michigan||

I am spiritual director of Jamadi, a community in México, home of the Mangala Murati Hanuman Mandir|| (hablo español)

I love to worship with devotees and to give support as a friend and brother on the path. I am available for spiritual counseling and support for individuals and families. Some of the children in the families I serve call me Narenji Mama and it warms my heart.

I give talks, courses, sacred music presentations, all within Sanatana Dharma— for academic and interfaith institutions as well as ashrams and temples. Such as GTU, Guibord Center, LMU, USC, Kriya Vedanta Gurukulam, etc ||

I founded Sangita Yoga in 2012 to present India’s sacred music.
