Los Angeles/Sri Lanka.
I am here to learn from artists, radical organizers, disability justice folks, people working from the global south, people engaged in abolitionist social work, and students.
Two of the more memorable jobs I’ve had was as a barista, where I realized free and accessible therapy should be part of socialized healthcare, and as a community photographer who focused on the prison system and immigration.
So many of my regulars confided in me with their darkest secrets and vices, and it inspired me to pursue work in higher education (as an advisor and accessibility specialist for students with disabilities at a community college).
