I study the concept of “xiangchou” 乡愁 (nostalgia, homesickness) for the Chinese countryside

I once created a podcast about youth in East Asia called “The Youth Element” (this was pre-Spotify, but it’s still available on iTunes!). We talked about how youth in 5 East Asian metropolises engage with domestic and international/geo-politics, find work-life balance, (for some) experienced and understand military service, and even the appeal of cafes and contextual equivalents of “avocado toast.”
