Dr. Leilani Carver-Madalon is a Communication Consultant, Leadership Expert and Professor who seeks to empower others through practical communication strategies and effective leadership tactics. Leilani is an Associate (tenured) Professor of Strategic Communication and Leadership at Maryville University of Saint Louis. Her expertise has been featured in Forbes, Huff Post, The Hill, PR News, TLNT, the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor’s Leadership Program, Thrive Global, Authority Magazine, Small Biz Club, Life As Human, Parentology, Romper, Fox News and on KSDK TV 5 News. Leilani was awarded Maryville University’s Women of Distinction Award in 2017 and in 2018 was a recipient of the Maryville Faculty Academic Spotlight Award for empowering women at Maryville through her work with the Women’s Leadership Mentorship Committee. In December 2019, Leilani delivered a TEDx Gateway Arch Talk titled: Scripts that Ignite your Power. Before earning her Ph.D., Professor Carver worked for eight years in prestigious communication roles in varying industries, such as Banking, Consulting and Mobile Technologies. Additionally, Dr. Carver-Madalon has lived and worked abroad in both Taiwan and China and has taught university courses in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Switzerland, England, Australia, France and Italy. Drawing on her international connections, Dr. Carver is currently interviewing diverse female executives from around the world on practical leadership strategies. Based upon her research findings, evidence based practices and her own experiences, Dr. Carver is in the process of writing a book on pragmatic leadership tactics.
