I was a special education department head in a public high school in the poorest Congressional district in the United States, working with the best students and the hardest working educators. But the pressure and stress of the job lead to burn out, and for the sake of my well-being and my students I left the classroom. Now I support educators through social emotional learning with Move This World, because I believe that student wellbeing and adult wellbeing are inexplicably connected. I hope that SEL can be a vehicle to avoid teacher burnout and keep teachers in the classroom.

I love celebrating educators, hearing and sharing stories of impact, getting real about what happens in our classrooms, and raising students up as the powerful change agents that they are!
