Jelissa is the C.E.O. and co-founder of T & J Publications Presents, a publishing house that targets African-American women writers who focus on urban novels, Christian fiction, contemporary romance with a taste of street literature. Prior to co-founding her publishing company, Jelissa has been writing professionally since 2016.
She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madisonโs Odyssey Project, a course in the humanities for students facing economic barriers to college. There she dedicated 9 months to studying the works of Socrates, Plato, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many other prolific writers. She is currently pursuing an associateโs degree in business management.
Jelissa has a robust publication history. On her own, she has written six books, including the following: If Loving Him Is Wrong, I Donโt Want to Be Right (Parts 1 and 2), Love Me Even When It Hurts (Parts 1, 2 and 3) and Love Worth The Wait:My Journey As A Prison Wife. Her journey as an entrepreneur and writer has been featured in both the August issue of BRAVA Magazine and in the Wisconsin CapTimes.
Jelissa resides in Wisconsin with her family.
