• Entrepreneur. Passionate about music & business and combining the two.
• Pioneer of Hit Song Science.
• CEO of Music Xray. musicxray.com
• Creator/Host of The Hookblast Podcast (Discover catchy songs - 10 mins - Weekly) hookblast.com
• Former label-signed musician
• Physics & cosmology aficionado.
🎶 • My work in the field of hit song prediction has been documented in case studies at Harvard Business School and IESE, widely discussed in the media, featured in NatGeo & Discovery documentaries, and inspired fictional plot lines in television shows such as CBS’s “Numb3rs” and NBC’s / Aaron Sorkin’s “Studio 60 On The SunSet Strip”.
🎸 • Music Xray (co-founder & CEO) has a community of nearly 500k musicians, songwriters, performers, & producers and 1200 music industry professionals (A&R, music supervisors) and fosters hundreds of music deals each month.
🎤 • The Hookblast Podcast (Discover Catchy Songs • Ten Minutes • Weekly). As host, I play a lunatic caricature of myself while I showcase catchy songs by independent artists discovered using Music Xray. I only play the hooks (you know, the catchy parts) so listeners never have to hear an entire song they may not love. Listeners can add the songs they DO love to their own streaming playlists or subscribe to mine at hookblast.com.
• I’m always looking for advice / help increasing the reach and appeal of The Hookblast Podcast to a broad mainstream audience.
• I am also always happy to share what I know about entrepreneurship, podcasting, adulting, (wine?), and to help others achieve their goals. Hit me up.
🪐 • My hobby-passion is in the foundations of quantum mechanics and the broad science of cosmology because that’s where the answers to the really big questions probably are. Why is there something as opposed to nothing? Currently, my favorite theoretical physicist (doesn’t everyone have one?) is Sean Carrol. Runners up: Roger Penrose, Brian Cox, & Sabine Hossenfelder.
