I’m a landscape photographer from Tasmania, where landscape photography has traditionally been used to fight to protect our wilderness from hydroelectric dams of wild rivers, logging of temperate rainforests, mining, natural gas.
More recently landscape photography has added to the problems damaging wild places through overuse and ignorance in how to leave no trace.
I have been drawn to the Himalayas for many years having lived in Nepal for a year and subsequent trips to the NW Himalayas.
So the ‘aspiring storyteller’ in me is taking a turn from landscape photography to tell some stories of people of the NW Himalayas ~ their lives, and the challenges facing them from a changing climate. Currently in the planning phase, the journey will truly begin in 2022.
