I am driven by joy, curiosity and a desire to understand the world and then use that understanding to improve it.
I am a scientist trained in physics. My PhD thesis looked at how we design better molecules using computers.
I work as a research strategist at IBM Research Europe. I design new materials for carbon capture using artificial intelligence and automated experiments.
I co-founded Global Shapers Manchester in 2020. We build projects that help local communities.
I work on creative projects such as a spoken word poem about climate change and the Poolside Polymaths Podcast.
Dance is a core part of my life. I have been active on the UK tango scene for over 10 years.
Some other things I’ve done:
• Helped discover new antibiotics
• Led a team to improve drug discovery with AI
• Collaborated with a glass blower to sculpt my PhD.
• Used AI to help a composer make music
• Wrote a book chapter how dance and physics connect.
• Spoke at the Royal College of Art on Beyond Tech: Questions to guide the future of design.
• Co-designed an innovative summer school. Like - our ice breaker was tasting with the fourth best chocolatiers in the world
