Dr Lorenzo Woodson was raised in the foster care system in Germantown Philadelphia PA until age of thirteen where he then went to live in Saint Francis of Assisi Home for Homeless Boys. Although he had some great experiences, he also endured brutal racial, physical and emotional abuse while in foster care. After leaving the boys’ orphanage he went on to college graduated from Community College of Philadelphia with a degree in early childhood education, then earned his Bachelor’s in education and master’s in human services counseling from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania with honors. He also earned his PhD in Human Services-Counseling from Walden University with honors.
Dr. Lorenzo A. Woodson currently lives and practices in Germantown as a Licensed Functional Behavior Analyst (specializing in Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities). He is CEO of Educational & Behavioral Consulting Services LLC. Which he is owner and operator of The Pediatric Center for Autism (www.pediatriccenterforautisim.com). He also lectures and conducts trainings on behavior modification techniques and cultural/gender bias in education. He also is an opinion editor/writer for a monthly Philadelphia newspaper tackling systemic issues around education, mental health issues, Autism and other socio-political issues.
He has published research in a national peer review journal that is required reading at Walden University for PhD students. Dr. Lorenzo A. Woodson began his work with children with developmental conditions and children diagnosed with autism spectrum over twenty years ago at the Developmental Center for Autistic Children. His behavior strategies are evidenced based and have through practice been shown to be effective with 90 percent of children with developmental conditions when employed consistently.
