I didn’t do the rat race, I did the human race. Rats are too smart to spend their lives maximizing the metrics we’ve been taught to care about - status, money, power - our pursuit of which has led to so much inequality and the exponential rise of our CO2 emissions.

Now, I put planet and people before profit.

The quantity of money I have is less important than my quality of life.

I power my R&D activities with 100% solar energy, drive once a week, and eat mostly vegetarian.

I live in the mountains of Evergreen, CO and conduct all my business from home.

That wasn’t enough, so I also originated Cyan.

Cyan is a portable, ultra-low-cost ($20-$100), DIY unit you can operate at home. It is named after cyanobacteria, tiny cells that gradually transformed the early Earth’s atmosphere by removing CO2 and emitting oxygen. Similarly, many of these small-scale Cyans in the hands of many individuals might just jumpstart a revolution to remove more and more CO2 from our present-day air.

I’ve planted trees and wish we could stick with nature-based solutions. However, we are now so deep in the carbon hole that we need something faster than plants at capturing CO2 and that is smaller and faster.

I don’t try to think outside the box, I’ve recycled the box. Will be more than happy to help you do the same.
