Political artist, photographer, writer and activist.

Perhaps my most notable achievement was my victory in the United States Supreme Court in a law suit against the Attorney General of the United States, challenging the constitutionality of the Communications Decency Act in 1997. The notorious Section 230 that Donald Trump hates. The right to communicate constitutionally protected content over Internet was upheld in a landmark victory for First Amendment rights. Additionally I have been involved in successful federal lawsuits against the government supporting privacy and free speech issues.

I am President of the Board of First Amendment Project (FAP), a nonprofit law firm dedicated to protecting and promoting freedom of information, expression, and petition. For more than 20 years, FAP has provided advice, educational materials, and pro bono legal representation to journalists, documentarians, artists, activists, nonprofit organizations, and other members of the public on First Amendment and media law matters.

I have been involved in technology since 1994, including the development of content, content management systems and information management as well as policy governing online communications.

I am also an artist with a focus on politics and pop culture.
