💃🏼 During the pandemic, I optioned, adapted, produced and directed 2 short films, flipping the gender of each of the lead characters. GUARDIAN, a supernatural comedy about a dysfunctional angel failing miserably at her human assignment and getting fired, and ASKING FOR IT, a satire about reporting assault and not being believed. I adapted both from original plays, and made my directorial debut.
🎞 The world premiere of Asking For It was recently held at the iconic Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and has now been invited to screen at 20 film festivals, winning Best Comedy Award at the Studio City International Film Festival, also won the Best Comedy Award at the 2023 Die Laughing Film Festival in Hollywood. We were nominated for Best Comedy at the 2023 Pasadena International Film Festival as well as the 2023 LA Femme International Film Festival.
🌍 The World Premiere of Guardian was held at the Lighthouse International Film Festival and it has been invited as an Official Selection to 35 festivals winning 5 Best Actress Awards, 4 Best Comedy Awards, 4 Finalist Selections, 1 Best Director nomination, an Honorable Mention, and an Award of Merit for Women Filmmakers. 🏆
