About Mohamed Cantoobo
Mohamed is a local government and public sector specialist with 10 years of experience in Somalia and the United Kingdom. Over the years Mohamed has contributed to local government reforms through advocacy, lobbying and partnership building, and democratisation through first hand civic and community engagement campaigns for political and social reforms and public awareness creation & education.
In recognition of his outstanding work with migrant communities in UK, the Bristol City Council has honoured him with the Bristol Community Champion Award in 2011.
Since 2015, Mohamed has returned to his home country of Somalia where he serviced the Banaadir regional government as District commissioner and subsequently as the Director General at Banaadir Regional Administration and Mogadishu Municipality. Where he is responsible for Social Affairs
