🏰 Château de Rosières 🏰

A few years ago my French husband and I took on the (in retrospect mad) project of renovating a rather large medieval castle and 130 acre estate in the heart of the forests and mountains of Ardèche, southern France. By ourselves.

🦚 Since then we’ve added chickens, peacocks, turkeys, pigeons, rabbits, a dog, a cat, a shrew and a baby. Because we didn’t think we had enough to do already. 🐓

🛠 Our dream is to turn Château de Rosières back into a working estate and family home as it would have been in the 18th century, alongside turning part of the château and several outbuildings into a peaceful retreat centre for artist, yoga, craft and corporate retreats. 🛏

📺 Part of our journey has been captured on three series of the 🇬🇧 TV show Escape to the Château: DIY. Viewers seemed to enjoy watching us so we thought we’d start to film more of our journey and launch a #YouTube channel 🎞

A YouTube channel like no other! #History #animals #farming #birds #DIY #renovation... It’s a mix of our daily life, historical stories about the château, renovation dramas and plenty of smiles in the heart of the French mountains in a fabulous, if slightly shabby, medieval château.
