Bio

I’m currently 57 yrs old. I started emotionally overeating when I was 8 years old. It relieved my loneliness and boredom. In my 20s, it escalated into compulsive BED. I am a sugar/fat/salt addict. At 52, I was at my highest weight of 270 lbs. My A1C was over 8.0 and I was officially diabetic. In May 2016, I was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis. I was in ICU unconscious for 102 days. My family was told that I had a 1% chance of survival. But then slowly but surely I recovered and 11 months later I came home. I had been tube fed so I had lost over 100 lbs. However, that didn’t cure me of my compulsive overeating triggers and behaviors. By the end of 2017, I had gained 60 lbs. I was finally at rock bottom, desperate enough to do whatever it took. I cut out junk food and all sugar except for certain fruits and vegetables. I learned that I needed to weigh/measure all of my food. Otherwise my disease would convince me to estimate on the more side than the less. It had to be accurate or it would blossom into a binge. Now I’ve lost 70 lbs. and my A1C is 4.8 and I’m no longer diabetic. Support was critical to my emotional, physical and spiritual recovery. I couldn’t do it alone. I truly believe the more support you have the better. I now realize that diets don’t work for me because as soon as I add my triggers back, even in moderation, it would always lead to disaster. I’d always gain the weight back plus more. The best quote that describes my level of disease is “One bite is too much and a thousand is not enough”.

My mission is to help other compulsive overeaters attain freedom from binging.

My favorite part of coaching is the excitement of helping clients achieve their "impossible" dreams.
