Why Politics & Baseball?
Baseball and politics have always gone hand-and-glove in America. The baseball-politics connection has been pounded into the mitt by generations of political leaders—goin as far back Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 presidential campaign. Ever since Jackie Robinson played his first Major League Baseball game with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, baseball has been something that brings people of all walks of life together. After WW2, baseball has helped us strengthen an alliance with Japan. In today’s political climate, we need to remember this playbook and this club welcomes everyone to the team who’s willing to hit a home-run with thoughtful, open dialogue about American politics.
