55 Media Group is running an initiative called “Don’t Box Me in.” Created by our founders, Brandon Williams & Ashley Lyle Williams. The aim is centered around sharing stories about the B.I.P.O.C diaspora. How do we find peace in a box? How do redesign the world we see ourselves fitting in? Why should we continue to work under patriarchy, as opposed to working for ourselves? How should we uplift our people without becoming a victim of circumstance? Let’s discuss the How, When, & Why? In a space where bullshit won’t be tolerated.
Pin Down 🏀 Rule 1: The pin down play is offense play where the center or big man to block Rule 1: Leave your ism’s at the door before you come on stage! No racism, sexism, classicism, etc allowed on our space.
Triangle offense ⛹🏽‍♂️Rule 2: Phil Jacksons triangle offense was about sharing the ball to the next person Let women speak! Men have had the mic for a eternity. Before you come on stage allow the women to the left or right of you.
Zone ✍🏽 Rule 3: This is your platform! Make sure your portfolio, branding, & links work before you get on stage. Don’t plug a brand you don’t have anything to do with! No cap will be allowed in our room! Be honest.
