So what is celibacy? 🤔

It’s a faith-based decision to abstain from sex, until marriage.

It is differentiated from the general term “abstinence” that can be used for abstaining from every and any thing (alcohol, social media, sex… anything!) for your own length of time and for your own reasons.

Some (priests in the Catholic Church for example) have taken a “vow of celibacy” for life which describes them refraining from sex for life! That is not scriptural as the Bible celebrates marriage and sex in marriage.

📌 Celibacy as God intended is for us to refrain from sex until marriage (no vows needed! 😏)

👉 So, as Believers, we believe in the faith-based decision to abstain from sex till marriage.
