Reaching the Horizon on Clubhouse

All of us dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are odd men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible. As of months ago, I’m practicing the art of adventure when I decided to break the chain of routines and renew my life through traveling to new places, speaking to new people, getting familiar to new mindsets, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints; two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by.

Life is short and the older we get, the more we feel it the shorter it is, indeed. People lose their capacity to walk, run, travel, think, and experience life. Hence, I realize how important it is to use the time I have. We must be willing to let go of the roads were written on papers, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for a newer and richer experience, since every man can transform the world from one of monotony and drabness to one of excitement and adventure; it is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.

As Franklin Roosevelt nicely puts into words, “we have always held to the hope, the belief, the conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond the horizon.” The point of mythology is to point to the horizon and to point back to ourselves: this is who we are, this is where we came from, and this is where we're going. No matter how far a person can go, the horizon is still way beyond it. So if you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing too, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it, since life is a daring adventure, or nothing. It’s time to remember what it’s like to feel alive; no borders, just horizons.
