Bio

Prof. Dr. Zoubeir LAFHAJ is full Professor, at Centrale Lille Institute, France. He is also the former Dean of International Affairs, a member of the Executive Committee of the Ecole Centrale de Lille (2008-2015) and recently elected member of the Board of Directors of Centrale Lille Institute (November 2019-...).
Prof. Dr. Zoubeir LAFHAJ is the holder of the "Construction 4.0" Chair since January 2017, an industrial research chair that addresses the challenges of modernizing the construction industry in France and Europe. Prof. Dr. Zoubeir LAFHAJ is a researcher at the Lam3 research centre. His industrial research expertise focuses on (i) additive manufacturing (3D printing) for construction, industrialization and robotization of construction, (ii) applications of AI, blockchain and BIM in construction and finally (iii) productivity, lean, and collaboration with all stakeholders in the construction industry. He is working at the international level to ensure that the CC4.0 Chair becomes a European Construction 4.0 Hub involved in a strong international network with the most advanced experts in the world.
He recently published two scientific books in French on "la revolution de la construction lean" and "la blockchain dans la construction" and more than 150 scientific articles. Two new other books are edited in 2021 : “La Logistique dans la construction” et “La vision de la ville et du chantier en 2049”.
He has supervised 30 doctoral theses and 14 postdoctoral fellowships. He is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals of rank A and elected member of the board of directors of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC).
