Interior designer and jewelry designer returning to the workforce. I’m here on Clubhouse to both network and update my marketing, etc. skills.
I create beautiful, functional, and highly unique and personalized homes and offices for busy professionals that seamlessly integrate universal design and aging-in-place principles.
Along with this, of course, goes accessible design for those who are disabled or know they are going to become disabled. Yes, it’s entirely possible to still have a beautiful, gracious, and comfortable home even if many modifications are necessary. There are literally *hundreds* of things that can be done from floor to ceiling to support people in remaining independent and to minimize the impact of the built environment - and still avoid looking institutional.
As a retired paramedic who is myself disabled thanks to an on-the-job injury, I am uniquely attuned to and knowledgeable about the needs of other disabled people, especially those with mobility and chronic pain challenges, and loss of vision.
Former drug rep with Abbott Laboratories and life and disability insurance agent with the Northwestern Mutual Life.
- BS in Spanish and linguistics from Georgetown.
- Studied interior architecture and design, jewelry, and photography at California College of Arts & Crafts and University of California Berkeley.
- Stanford University Prehospital Care Program and Mills College Postbaccalaureate Premed Program
I’ve traveled extensively and have friends and family all over the world. I’ve spent a lot of time in South America (especially Peru and Chile), and in Sweden. I speak Spanish fairly fluently (although rusty now) and can converse somewhat laboriously and simply in French and get by in Italian. I understand smatterings of German, Portuguese, Hebrew, and Swedish. I love to read all kinds of things, and am an avid amateur genealogist.
