Well, what I do is make water risk assessments easy for Young Water Professionals to learn so they can develop confidence in their risk analyses to master their projects & accelerate their career.

My name is Jennifer M Gulland, and I specialise in analysing water risks for the World Bank, 2030 Water Resources Group, UNDP and multinational companies around the world.

I got fascinated about water early on when I attended a lecture about the human right to water at University. It was then that I realised that water was so fundamental to everything we do - and that it can be a major - often overlooked - risk to all development. We just assume water is taken care of.

I have been working on water risks over the past 11 years, conducing water security assessments as part of PwC and Vector Center (a water risk consultancy) as well as directly for the World Bank, 2030 Water Resources Group, UNDP and some multinational clients. To ensure that my on-the-ground understanding remains accurate, I enjoy investigating water challenges as part of photojournalism projects with Circle of Blue.

So far, I’ve worked in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Kenya, Uganda, Namibia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Palestine, Israel, Republic of Marshall Islands & in various European countries.

I completed my BSc in International Economics and Finance (cum laude) at Tilburg University & my MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management at Oxford University.
