Theresa Ranallo is a current graduate of the communications and public relations undergraduate degree offered at Mount Royal University. She is a self-proclaimed lifelong learner with experience in healthcare, social work, event planning, communications, and volunteer management.
Theresa's passion for people, non-profits, and conversation inspires her to engage in meaningful work. Theresa's academic background has focused, in part, on social innovation and non-profit management, which is a cool way to say she loves thinking innovatively to uplift her community. In the fall of 2020, Theresa worked with Alberta Health Services as a communications intern and supported community engagement. As well for the last four months Theresa has completed an internship with ViTreo and connected with at least 11 community client projects.
Last summer, Theresa celebrated purposeful conversations that support non-profits with the local social enterprise Nicerr. Theresa helped her team with research, communication strategies, and event promotion to connect information seekers with industry experts for a good cause. Also, Theresa had an opportunity to participate in the BounceBackYYC hackathon and won her pitch for the hospitality and tourism track. Her team's winning idea became The Great Staycation YYC and supported Albertans and small businesses alike.
Theresa brings a decade of experience as a medical office assistant working within hospital and outpatient cardiology. Also, Theresa shares a wealth of frontline experience supporting mental health and addictions as a specialist working at The Alex here in Calgary. Theresa regularly engages with the Calgary Public Relations Society (CPRS) and Lean In, a global community that supports women and workplaces alike to reach their highest potential. She enjoys planning her children's birthday parties, listening to podcasts, and taking off to Canmore for eggs benedict whenever the opportunity knocks.
Fun fact: Theresa is born and raised in Calgary, and her passions include horseback riding and drinking tea even when it's hot outside.
