Tammy Monroe – Founder of Working in Progress and
Gray Global Innovative Consulting LLC
Tammy Monroe is an innovator, emerging entrepreneur, and the founder
and CEO of Working In Progress, Inc (WIP) 2008. WIP’s mission is to provide
the youth in our community with a scientific instructional transition plan that
is flexible and adaptable to the needs of the industry and society as they
make the transition from high school to adulthood. WIP seeks to provide our
youth the guidance they need to reach financial responsibility and a better
quality of life and independence. Although most of the youth WIP works with
are at risk, Tammy believes all our youth are at risk if we fail to work together
and provide quality education and resources for the good of all our children
in the community. In 2010 WIP hosted its first “Call To Akron Young Men’s”
conference at the University of Akron where over 250 males, ages 9 to 18,
and parents were in attendance. In 2014 she hosted the first “Precious GEMS
Young Women’s” conference for females, ages 12- 18, with over 200 young
women and parents attended.
Tammy is an advocate for quality and global education. She enjoys working in the community and
building relationships with businesses and other organizations around Northeast Ohio. She believes it
is part of her purpose to work to provide opportunities and resources to help further youth
development. One of her mottos at WIP is “We believe that making the connection between learning
and earning is the key to developing our future workforce and entrepreneurs.” Tammy strives to
inspire the youth she works with to expand their knowledge of life and education as they discover the
greatness within themselves. Her passion is to train and coach a new breed of future entrepreneurs
and tomorrow’s leaders. At Working In Progress, we’re “Building Bridges to Possibilities"
In 2019, Tammy formed her new company Gray Global Innovative Consulting LLC. Gray Global
Innovative Consulting, DBA Gray Global Innovative Consulting, Inc, is a minority woman-owned small
business with over combined 12 years of experience in the non-profit and for-profit sector. Gray
Global Innovative Consulting focuses on small- to mid-size startup businesses, aspiring new
businesses, new for-profit and non-profit business, new startup pre-assessments, workshops,
existing businesses, mentorship, coaching and pre-grant assessments, strategic planning, project management & training.
