Audio: 90 minutes personal audio recorded on March 24, 1994 memoir (exactly 50 years on the anniversary of his Lancaster Bomber being shot down on a return Bombing Mission over Berlin). Recently posted on Youtube: search ‘Michael Fedoruk’
1) 6 crew members killed
2) Michael Fedoruk (my father) parachuted out of plane on fire shot down by enemy fighter plane (only survivor)
3) Landed in occupied Holland, met with sympathetic farmers, and handed over to Dutch Underground.
13 months evading capture.
4) Five close calls…almost captured 5 different occasions.
5) Several underground ‘helpers’ who were hiding my father were captured and killed by Germans
