How big is your imagination ?
Travel at the speed of light, fundamental hypothesis.
Light itself is made up of many waves, magnetic included.
Light can be manufactured by us, speed can be controlled by passing through diamonds as one example, direction can be controlled, on and off is as basic as it comes.
Maglev trains use magnetic forces to levitate against the forces of gravity as well as creating an impulse that would give infinite speed, our infrastructure restricts the speed.
Move into space travel, remove restrictions of gravity, infrastructure not necessary.
Create a craft with a light source at one end of it. A speed controlling mechanism in the central section. A slide and “connecting” device at the front end.
The bit I haven’t figured out as I’m not an expert in any field. Is forming the “connection” to specific photons within the electromagnetic wave, as part of the light wave.
Once that connection is created the craft is travelling at the speed of light. It can of course be simply turned off, on, it can be slowed which means it can be sped up, directed.
