I’m a Japanese designer in London.
ロンドンで舞台、グラフィック、映像のデザインをやっています。気づけば人生の半分以上ここにいます。

旅行、恋しいです〜ロックダウンでほぼ家で過ごす日々。Covid終わったら大好きな北キプロスに家族と行きたーーーい🐠🐴🌺🧿🍋

🌍🌸SONOKO OBUCHI🌸🌍

Japanese born Artist / Set Designer Sonoko Obuchi was the first ever artist in residence for the Historic Royal Palaces (Kensington Palace, Tower of London, Hampton Court). There she produced a contemporary film which became part of their permanent collection in 2009.

Sonoko worked on Gorillaz 'Strobelite' music video as an assistant stylist. Her solo exhibition 'POP JAPAN' (2017, London) was a real success and the exhibition was extended further two months due to the high popularity. Sonoko had been a music stage designer for the Standon Calling music festival. Gilles Peterson, Hawkwind, DJ Yoda have performed on her stages. Sonoko has been a stage set designer for pantomime shows at Millfield Theatre in London for the last 10 years.

During The UK Lockdown 2020, Sonoko has produced over 50 Manga drawing tutorials on her YouTube channel called ‘Ramen Squad’ for school children stuck at home. Recently her name was mentioned by Kylie Minogue on her Instagram stories for REUNIØN ‘Way Out West’ music video artwork she drew.
