PhD candidate | Forensic Psychology Scholar | Inheritor of ancestral spirits. Zimbabwean | Kweer | Nomad | London • Cape Town
I am a decolonial feminist Forensic Psychology scholar, who is currently completing a PhD in Psychology. The PhD research explores issues relating to migration, borders, trauma, structural violence and decolonial methodologies. Some of my work has also been focused on ancestral knowledges/ ancestral ways of knowing, collective healing, healing, intimate partner violence, sexual offending, trauma, decolonising work on trauma and holding space within black communities – specifically creating gathering circles for black, indigenous and poc queer communities. I tend to combine psychology, art, activism, ancestral knowledges, and often in collaboration with various scholars, artists and organisations, to examine trauma, inequality and geopolitical issues. I have curated exhibitions in the UK, including taking part in the 10th Berlin Biennale performance. In 2014 I was identified as one of 15 Britain based women campaigners making changes in the world and published in the book, Here We Stand: Women changing the world.
