I fell in love with the cannabis plant about 45 yrs ago. Current businesses - @ashevillehemp, vertically integrated NJ Marijuana company and NC/NY/NJ hemp farms. Had a hemp fashion company back in the 90’s called IZM. Provided financial support for drug policy reform way back when. C21H30O2
‘Busy hands, are happy hands’. I love material and technique. Craft is always appreciated - in everything. Perfect doesn’t exist, but if we aim for it we get closer. I try to make the world a better place, believing if we are present, we are participants. Problem solving gets me off.
OG - with longevity, tenacity, and passion. As a lifelong (and occasional trans-oceanic) sailor🌊, I have understood working with, and fighting against, nature for survival. I have been a builder and a gardener for decades. Have worked as designer, carpenter, general contractor, culture impresario, nonprofit executive director, board member, founder, funder, communications and business strategist, farmer, manufacturer, and more. Founder and first president of the Maine Woodworkers Association and the NJ Cannabis Association.
I have published several books, and contributed to others.
Work/ed with myriad players - from corporates to celebrities, from the brilliant to the common. Authentic is my favorite descriptor. I often chart my own course. Passion is my fuel. Always willing to help, share, trade, collaborate, or hang.
Live/d in New York City and Shelter Island, NY, Asheville, NC, Robinhood, ME, Honaunau, HI, Rome, Italy . . . I am usually in places that excite me for natural beauty, architectural interest, and the people who are there.
