Shannon Beasley Taitt is the founder of Deep Roots Consulting, LLC, which provides personal and professional development coaching, specializing in individualized life design plans to help clients Dig, Cultivate, and Grow with confidence, purpose and clarity.

She started helping individuals and organizations after conquering her own personal and professional hurdles by rebuilding her life after bankruptcy, navigating the ups and downs of her career, losing over 30 pounds after a major health scare and battling back from anxiety and depression after the many personal losses in her life. Shannon has extensive experience in both addiction treatment and increasing access to care for under-served populations.

By the age of 40, Shannon had lost both parents and couldn’t imagine how that loss must feel to a younger child. She was inspired by the extraordinary legacy that her mother left with all of the students she touched during her 36 years of teaching. She is continuing her mother's legacy. One that embodies her mother’s values and beliefs in the power and potential of students she taught. Shannon drew from the grief and loss of her mother to write her successful book, "Get Your Head in the Game: Life Lessons Learned from My Mother through the Game of Basketball." Shannon wanted to do more than just tell the story of her mother’s impact on her life and the lessons she learned. She established the MAY-B Foundation which is a community-based nonprofit agency changing lives of African-American students who have lost a parent or guardian by providing emotional and financial resources that cultivate help, hope, and healing.

Whether coaching, speaking, or training, Shannon is a catalyst for change.
