Motion Film Director and Producer Shailender Vyas have received formal training in India and Canada. His latest venture as creator, writer-director, and producer is "JL50" released on Sonyliv Starring Abhay Deol, Pankaj Kapoor, Piyush Mishra, and Rajesh Sharma. JL 50 has been a great success and continues to be watched and praised by an increasing audience. Shailender was nominated for Best Editor at Filmfare and Best Screenplay Writer at Asian Tv Awards.

His first public work was a short film called " Prashan Chinn", screened at the 62'nd Cannes Film Festival and in 20 Film Festivals around the globe, winning many awards.

Vyas has the distinction of writing and directing a number of plays. In 2006, he was awarded the "Legislative Assembly Award" in Canada for his play, "Palki", and again in 2010 with the "Award of Excellence" in recognition of the best film of the year for his film, "Lost". In his film "Three Colours and a Canvas", his abilities as a filmmaker were tested to their limits as he dealt with the complex social issue of drug abuse and addiction. He bridges his own background and experiences in India with North American aesthetics to create a film that examines the lives of four friends who deal with the pressures faced as young adults and the consequences of rampant drug use.

Vyas is also a highly creative writer. Beyond writing his own scripts for his films, he has also produced a cookbook series, called "Chakh Le India", and has contributed to various projects in a range of media, including feature films, short films, documentaries, and made-for-television films. Vyas is an earnest and committed believer in the power of visual media as a way of sharing stories. His knowledge and training in music add to his craft as a multi-talented filmmaker. He has contributed to the music of all his work including writing and singing a song in JL 50( "moner moto").
His knack for dealing with traditionally difficult subjects and his unwavering voice as a multi-faceted writer-director has proven to be instrumental in mobilizing positive change in the world of cinema today.
